The SecDev Foundation is putting out a call for interns to work on Digital Report.
Digital Report (DR) is a Russian-language website that works to facilitate communication, knowledge transfer and build bridges between cyberpolicy professionals in the former Soviet Union and the rest of the world. As an expert-centric forum focusing on cybersecurity, Internet governance, information warfare, personal data collection and privacy, among other topics, DR encourages thought-provoking debate on ICT regulation in the region. With an established and growing network of experts, Digital Report generates original data and analysis, and covers relevant and timely issues in the local context.
We seek motivated self starters who will be responsible for the original research and publication of articles from available data. The internship will consist of reviewing Russian-language ICT statistics, publishing short analytical articles on the state of ICT and cyberpolicy in the countries that Digital Report covers and/or editing submissions from recognized experts in the field. The data will be mostly in Russian, and the ideal candidate must possess an intermediate knowledge of written Russian, although preference would be given to a functionally-bilingual (English-Russian) candidate. Emphasis will be placed upon the candidate’s ability to write. Written outputs can be in either Russian or English.
The successful candidate will be a graduate student. In addition, the candidate will have a functional knowledge of ICT and cybersecurity related issues and topics (technology, policy, privacy, surveillance, etc). Candidates are encouraged to use the Internship as the basis for academic research, presentations and publications. DR will support candidates who wish to use the internship as part of the graduate research projects.
If interested, please submit a resume and writing sample (not an academic paper) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
